Leaders in my life

What I learned from Mr Atanu Dasgupta at Power Grid – Part 6

Continuing on my experiences with Mr. Dasgupta, in today’s blog, I will cover another interesting topic about being a good leader. Let us take a look at the next lesson.

One Must Have Fun at Work: Fun is not Optional

Mr. Dasgupta worked hard and encouraged us to do our best. He is quality conscious but he never forgot the fun element. Even in the times when we were under extreme pressure, he made the atmosphere light with his intelligently funny comments and remarks. I still remember he used to have two posters pinned on the wall of his office, fun posters on Rules for Leave and Work Rules. While I cannot locate the exact ones, from my memory and with the aid of the Internet, I have created one poster that can give you an idea. Please do have a look. I am sure it will bring a smile to your face.

The fun element at work makes people bond together and makes others feel that you matter to them outside of work as well. It goes a long way to build teams. People who can laugh together are more likely to support each other and more often than not, come out as a winner.

I wish you can bond with your team, encourage them to find reasons to laugh together and make sure that “Having Fun is not Optional”.

Stay tuned for more next week.
