What I learned from Mr. Asit Som at Powergrid – Part 3
Continuing from last week, today I will share another lesson that I learned from Mr. Asit Som.
Do Your Best – Irrespective…
Companies take decisions all the time. Most of the times we get to play a role in helping to make these decisions but sometimes we do not. There are times when a decision is imposed on you, whether you have had any chance to express your opinion on it. Sometimes we have a completely different thoughts and we feel negatively about the decisions.
Mr. Asit Som emphasized the difference between a “time to debate” and a “time to act”. He explained to me that I must not let my own emotions overshadow my performance.
When it is clear that a decision has been taken regarding some specific work that concerns us, whether or not we agree with it, we must do our best. Continuing that debate in our head will just make us do a poor-quality job. And we will be known for turning up that piece of work.
We must make an endeavor to always deliver our best. Our work is ours and it is a reflection of ourselves. We must not let our work tarnish our reputation.
I wish all of you can understand the boundary where debate stops action starts. I wish that you always do your best.
Stay tuned for that next week.
